Waterproofing of balconies in a central Biarritz building

In a building located in the center of Biarritz, near the sea, the balconies had original tiling over 40 years old. The waterproofing was no longer effective and the system needed a complete renovation.

All the tiling was removed down to the original slab. To manage debris, scaffolding with a hoist was installed, since the work was carried out in a central urban area. Each balcony was then re-leveled with the required slopes. A waterproofing system was applied with Schluter-KERDI, rising more than 10 cm on the perimeter, as required by regulations. Special corner pieces supplied by the manufacturer were installed, followed by new tiling and all necessary finishing touches. The work was done in two phases: first the main façade and then the rear façade.

All the balconies of the building (two entrances) were completely renovated and waterproofed for many years. The residents and the building’s Council Syndical highly valued the quality of the work and entrusted us with additional projects.
