Gorka Lomeña is a family-owned construction company specialising in full renovations and residential refurbishment.
Our journey began in 2007 and, since then, we have continued to grow, learn and professionalise the way we work, always around the same trade: building.
We mainly work in Gipuzkoa and the French Basque Country, both directly with property owners and alongside architects, interior architects and interior designers.
Our speciality is residential projects: flats, apartments and detached houses, from complete renovations to more complex refurbishment projects.
We have our own technical team and masonry staff, and for many years we have worked with a stable network of trusted professionals and specialist contractors.
But our work is not limited to execution alone.
A full renovation requires study, preparation, coordination and follow-up. That is why we have organised our company around the different stages of the same project: Study, Preparation and Execution.
We study the project before starting, prepare the works, coordinate all the professionals involved and oversee the execution through to completion.
After many years renovating homes, we have learned that a good project is not only one that is well finished.
It is also one that is well studied, well prepared, well coordinated and, ultimately, well built.
We mainly work with private clients, accompanying them throughout the entire process of transforming their home.
We also regularly collaborate with architects, interior architects and interior designers who trust our team to carry out their projects.
In addition, we undertake projects for professional clients such as companies, hotels and other establishments. We know that these types of projects have different needs, schedules and ways of working, and we adapt our organisation to each project and each client.
Whatever the project, our way of working remains the same: study it carefully, prepare it, coordinate it and take responsibility for its execution, with a professional team and close support throughout the entire process.
For us, providing a good service means being present, caring about the project, taking responsibility for the works and standing behind them.
Building better also means building responsibly.
Construction has an impact on our surroundings, and we are aware of the responsibility we have as a company.
Every construction project has an impact. Our responsibility is to work to reduce it, choose durable solutions, make better use of resources and properly manage the waste we generate.
Our way of understanding this commitment can be summed up in four concepts: Renovate · Resist · Respect · Recycle
Our speciality is precisely refurbishment.
We restore existing homes to adapt them to new ways of living, improving their insulation, energy efficiency and comfort, while at the same time extending their useful life.
Refurbishment is not only about preserving what already exists, but about improving it for the years ahead.
For us, one of the main objectives of any project is to build things to last.
Good materials, good workmanship and durable solutions, designed to maintain their quality over the years.
We use materials and resources responsibly and look for solutions that improve the insulation, energy efficiency and comfort of homes.
We are also committed to reducing the impact of our own activity by using energy from renewable sources in our facilities.
As part of this commitment, we collaborate with Gipuzkoako Baso Elkartea, an association dedicated to the management and conservation of Gipuzkoa’s forests.
On our construction sites, we separate waste selectively, using specific containers and bags, and working with specialised waste managers and centres: Cetraid and Artola in the French Basque Country, and Ekotrade and Garbigune in Gipuzkoa.
To build and refurbish spaces with a high standard of workmanship, organisation and responsibility.
We want to continue developing an increasingly professional, well-prepared and demanding company, capable of taking on projects of different scales and levels of complexity in both Gipuzkoa and the French Basque Country.
Our objective is simple to explain and requires consistency to achieve:
to do things well and keep improving every day.
To learn from every project, refine the way we work and continuously raise our standards of organisation, coordination and execution.
We want Gorka Lomeña to remain and consolidate its position as one of the leading companies in renovation and refurbishment in Gipuzkoa and the French Basque Country.
We do not want to achieve this simply by growing in volume, but by becoming better and better at what we do.
To grow in knowledge, organisation, technical capability, quality of execution and our ability to take on increasingly demanding projects.
We want clients, architects and interior designers to find in GL a prepared, organised and responsible team capable of studying, preparing, coordinating and taking a project through to completion.
And, over time, we want choosing Gorka Lomeña to become synonymous with something very simple: trust, peace of mind and a job well done.
We approach every project with responsibility.
When we accept a project, we commit ourselves to it and to the people who have placed their trust in us. We get involved, look for solutions and remain accountable until the very end.
We believe in doing things properly, even when they cannot be seen.
Quality is in the finishes, but also in everything that later remains hidden: properly executed waterproofing, a well-resolved structure, coordinated installations or a site that has been properly prepared before work begins.
We prefer to explain things as they are.
Construction is complex and difficulties and unforeseen issues can arise. Our responsibility is to anticipate them whenever possible and, when they do occur, address them with transparency, sound judgement and responsiveness.
A construction project is the result of the work of many people.
Our own team, specialist contractors, architects, engineers, suppliers and clients all form part of the same project.
We believe in professional relationships based on respect, trust and collaboration. Because the best projects are not built by one person alone: they are built by good teams working together.
We have experience, but we keep learning.
We analyse our projects and the way we work to identify what we can organise better, what we can anticipate and how we can continue raising our standards.
We do not aim to do things the way they have always been done. We aim to do them better every time.
Respect for people, for our trade, for the buildings we work on and for the environment in which we operate.
We care not only about the result, but also about the way we achieve it.
Passion for Building
We enjoy our work.
We enjoy turning an idea or a project into reality, solving challenges and seeing how months of study, preparation, coordination and execution ultimately become a well-built space.
Building is our trade. And we like to do it well.
