Construction of a typical Basque house in Hendaye with RT-2020 standards
In Hendaye, second line from the sea, we carried out the construction of a typical Basque house from scratch, in collaboration with a trusted architect with whom we had previously worked. The project was designed under French RT-2020 standards, requiring a high level of insulation and energy efficiency.
- Execution of a ventilated sanitary slab to guarantee ventilation and hygiene at the base of the house.
- Use of ecological BioBrick thermo-clay bricks, improving thermal insulation and environmentally friendly.
- Installation of special beams and hollow blocks to optimise insulation according to the thermal and engineering study.
- Complete construction with multiple arches characteristic of Basque architecture.
- Execution of a cast-in-place concrete staircase.
- Construction of a small annex garage and a technical room.
The result was a unique new-build home, faithful to the traditional Basque style while meeting the strict insulation and energy efficiency requirements of the RT-2020 standards. The combination of sustainable materials and carefully crafted architectural details created a welcoming, modern and charming home.
Although we have experience in the construction of new houses, our true specialty is integral renovations and refurbishments. We only accept new construction projects in special cases, when they are unique homes requiring high-quality finishes and extreme attention to detail. Our goal is to be a reference in renovations, not in general new construction.
